Shimla, Sep 24 : After two days of widespread and largely heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, tourist spots on Sunday saw the maximum temperatures plummeting by five to six degrees, the weather bureau said. The weather will largely remain dry this week.
It said there was no appreciable change in the minimum temperature.
The state capital saw a low of 13 degrees Celsius, whereas the maximum stayed at 22.1 degrees, the Met office said. It recorded 47 mm of rain.
While Nahan town in Sirmaur district recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 156 mm, it was 57 mm in picturesque tourist resort Manali, 22 mm in Dharamsala and 15 mm in Dalhousie.
Incessant rains have also caused landslides in Shimla, Kinnaur, Chamba and Kullu districts, hampering vehicular traffic.
Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti district, was the coldest at a minimum temperature of 9.9 degree Celsius. It saw seven mm of rain.
An official of the local Met Office said the weather would largely remain dry in the state till September 30.
