New Delhi, July 21 (IANS) A sharp shooter who was inspired by Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and his gangster movies and was involved in eight murder cases has been arrested here, police said on Friday.

Police said the accused, Aman Khadkhadi, 21, a resident of Karaali village in west Delhi's Najafgarh area, was a member of the Rajesh Bharti gang.

He started doing crimes after watching Bollywood movies - "Vastav" and "Khalnayak" - of Sanjay Dutt when he was just 17 years old in 2014. He wanted to live like a character of Dutt's movie in his real life, police said.

"He was arrested by police teams on a tip-off when he came to visit his village on Thursday evening to commit more crimes in Najafgarh area. He along with other gang members were involved in murders in Chhawla area and Sector-23 in Dwarka. After a shoot out, he would leave pamphlets identifying his gang as 'Rajesh Bharti Gang' to show the gang's dominance in Delhi and NCR area," Deputy Commissioner of Police Surender Kumar said.

"During interrogation, Khadkhadi said that he along with his other associates of Bharti gang had on July 17 killed a man identified as Vikas, a resident of Dwarka, after he fired at him. On July 18, he opened fire on two brothers following a road rage incident when they could not give way to his car in Kanjhawla. Later one of the brothers, Pradeep died on the spot," Kumar said.

In 2014, he murdered Rajender Kumar of his village over personal animosity, following which he was sentenced to 18 months in jail. He later came in contact with Bharti in jail and joined his gang, the officer added.
